Depardtment of Posts (India Post) is the second largest central government department in India. As per India post official website, a total of more than 1.5 Lakh post offices are working across India in rural and urban areas. Now question comes that what is the future of India Post?

Future Post Office- Post office may convert into Dak Bank

Right now, post office department provides various types of small savings schemes including Sukanya and PPF to deposit the money. 
Postal Life Insraunce (PLI and RPLI) schemes is giving a life insurance coverage with high return.
A new product known as India Post Paymetns bank is also working under the DOP (Department of Post), but only 2 lakh rupees can be deposited into IPPB account.  
Similiarly, all post offices delivers speed post, Parcel, registered article domestic and international. But people has been habited to share documents on social media application like whatsapp, email and other online platform. 
It may possible in upcoming years that Indians may use online portal and social media to send documents. So, how government will do to survive future post office?
In 2020, NITI Aayog has suggested creation of Dak Bank using India’s over 1.5 Lakh post offices to enter in Banking sector.
Accouring to the NITI aayog, all post offcie may be converted into outlet for the proposed Dak Bank. 
After merging of private banks and all post office, a new DAK bank may be established into upcoming years.
