Generally, post offices use dot-matrix and thermal printers to print their booking slip and other statements.
Printer configuration is the most important task for IT 2.0. Without printer configuration, the post office staff can’t work in IT 2.0 environment.
If your post office has been rolled out under IT 2.0, then you must configure the thermal and dot matrix printer settings.

A6 Thermal Printer Configuration for A6 Paper Roll
Confirmation settings below for the A6 thermal printer using Printing preferences-
Page Setup Setting
- Width – 100 mm
- Height – 140 mm
- Media Type – Continuous labels
- Rotation – 90 Degree Landscape
Print Options
- Darkness – 30 (can be adjusted anywhere between 25-30)
- Printing Mode – Thermal transfer
Graphic Options
- Dithering (There are 1 to 6 settings from photo to clipart. Set the bar to
clipart (6th setting) - Graphics type – Standard
During printing, the Scale has to be set to – Fit to Printable area
Note: These settings are configured for the Printer Model – Zebra ZD 230 TA printer with Paper Size/Media size – A6.

Page Setup
- Width – 104 mm
- Height – 58 mm
- Media Type – Continuous labels
- Rotation – 0 Degree Portrait
Print Options
- Darkness – 30 (can be adjusted anywhere between 25-30)
- Printing Mode – Thermal transfer
Graphic Options
- Dithering (There are 1 to 6 settings from photo to clipart. Set the bar to
- clipart (6th setting)
- Graphics type – Standard
During printing, the Scale has to be set to – Fit to Printable area.

Dot Matrix Printer Configuration For IT 2.0
Step 1: Connect the respective DOT matrix printers to the desktops.
Step 2: Go to System settings, Bluetooth & devices->Printers and Scanners-> Click on Print server properties as shown below

Step 3: Click on Create a new Form and name it as RECEIPT.
Step 4: Change the values of fields below as shown in the image, and then click on apply->ok.
- Width-19.69cm
- Top-0.03cm
- Height-5.03cm
- Bottom-0.00cm
Step 5: Go to the printer Epson 310 LX series in Printer and Scanners ->right click and select Printing preferences->select Advance document settings.
Step 6: Under the paper size drop down select RECEIPT form, which was created in step 4, as shown below

Step 7: Go to the printer Epson 310 LX series in printer and scanners-> right click, select Properties ->select the advanced tab->and select below fields
- Select the radio button-Start printing immediately
- Select the check box-Print Spooled documents first
- Select the check box-Enable advanced printing features
As shown below

Step 8: In IT 2.0 URL, after booking of an article/emo, when the print option is selected, click on the DOT matrix option.
Step 9: A PDF with print option is displayed-Select print icon and select print options under paper size as RECIPT form as created in step 4, as shown below

Step 10: Click on print for a successful print receipt. If print is incorrect/paper torn/not printable, then click on the No failed button in the desktop and again reprint the same by following step 9.
Step 11: In case of print is not legible in the receipt print direction may be changed to unidirectional for better legibility.
