Dak Seva App: How to Register Complaint

The CEPT team of India Post launched a new application for all post office customers. This application is known as Dak Seva App.

This Dak Sewa Mobile App is a citizen-centric application developed by the Department of Posts, offering services like tracking consignments, complaint registration, postage calculation, and locating post offices.

How to register a complaint in Dak Sewa App?

Go to the ‘Register your Complaint’ option in ‘Quick Services’ available on the Home Screen. Select the Category, Services, and Types from the dropdowns and enter the required fields.

Upon tapping the ‘Submit’ button, a unique Complaint ID will be generated for future reference. This option is also available under the ‘Services’ tab.

Where can I view the details of complaints raised by me?

In the Home page of the app, ‘My Complaints’ menu is available under ‘Quick Services’.

By tapping on ‘My Complaints’ menu, the list of complaints raised by the customer will be displayed with ‘Complaint ID’ and ‘Status’ of the complaint.

The details of the complaints can be viewed by tapping on each ‘Complaint ID’.

How to track the complaints raised by me?

In the Home page of the app, ‘Track Complaint’ option is available under ‘Quick Services’.

Tap on ‘Track Complaint’ option, enter the Complaint number and tap on ‘Fetch’ button.

The details like ‘Complaint Description’, ‘Complaint Status’ and ‘Solution provided’ will be displayed.

How to Track and Trace the Articles?

‘Track N Trace’ option is available in the Home Screen of the App.

In ‘Track N Trace’, enter Consignment number in the field and enter the Captcha displayed and tap on ‘Track’ button.

The tracking details will be displayed.

How to Track and Trace the Electronic Money Orders?

‘Track N Trace’ option is available in the Home Screen of the App.

In ‘Track N Trace’, enter eMO number in the field and enter the Captcha displayed and tap on ‘Track’ button.

The tracking details will be displayed.

How to find PIN Code of a Post Office in Dak Sewa App?

‘Find Pincode’ option is available in the Home page.

Enter search characters in the field, enter the captcha displayed and tap on ‘Find’ button.

The list of post offices with PIN code will be displayed.

How can I calculate Postage for a letter or parcel in Dak Sewa App?

In the Home page of the app, ‘Calculate Postage’ option is available under ‘Quick Services’.

Tap on ‘Calculate Postage’, choose an option from the dropdown Domestic/International and choose the article type from the dropdown.

Select the Value added services, shape of consignment, enter weight & dimensions, source pincode and destination pincode and tap on ‘Calculate’ button.

This option is also available under ‘Services’ tab with option menu ‘Postage Calculator’.

Go to ‘Locate Post Office’ option in the ‘Quick Services’ menu available in the Home screen of Dak Sewa App.

The list of nearest post offices will be listed under the tab ‘Location based’.

Yes, the app login can also be made through biometric lock of the Phone/Device.

The ‘Biometric Lock’ option is available under ‘General Settings’ in ‘Profile’ tab. This option is to be enabled for using biometric login of the phone device.

How to change my login password?

‘Change Password’ option is available in the ‘Profile’ tab of the App.

Tap on the option ‘Change Password’, Change password screen will be opened with a field to enter ‘Customer ID’.

Enter the 10 digit Customer ID and tap on ‘Send OTP’ button. OTP will be sent to registered mobile number of the customer.

Enter the OTP and tap on ‘proceed’ button.

Enter the new password in ‘New Password’ field and ‘Confirm New Password’ field.

Tap on ‘Reset Password’ button. Message “Password changed successfully” will be displayed.

Tap on the option ‘PLI/RPLI Premium Calculator’

What can I do, if I don’t receive OTP (One Time Password) on my registered mobile number (For Registered Customer) / mobile number entered by me (For Guest Login)?

OTP (One Time Password) generated will be sent to registered mobile number (For Registered Customer) / mobile number entered (For Guest Login) which will be valid for 2 (two) minutes.

Time until the generated OTP is valid will be displayed. After the OTP validity time is lapsed, tap on “Didn’t receive OTP?” to re-generate a fresh OTP. User may retry login with the regenerated OTP.

If the problem still persists, there may be issue with the OTP server. Please retry after some time.

What will happen if I enter incorrect/wrong OTP (One Time Password) while login?

When an incorrect/wrong OTP (One Time Password) is entered, app will not auto verify the OTP. Instead, user needs to tap on “Verify” button to validate the OTP.

User may see error message as “Incorrect OTP or no response from OTP Server or ….!” when incorrect / wrong OTP is entered and user tries to verify it by tapping on “Verify” button.

How can user enable or disable In-app notification for Dak Sewa App?

In-app notification for Dak Sewa app is enabled by default. User will not be able to disable it.

What happens when logged in user (Registered /Guest) taps “Logout” button and checks the option “Remove Login Data” in the “Confirm Logout” dialogue box?

Dak Sewa app stores few preliminary data when registered user opts for “Remember Me” during login and few preliminary data by default for Guest user in app itself to avoid retrieving such data every time user tries to login to the app from the concerned API (Application Interface).

Opting for “Remove Login Data” while logout will only remove such data from the app only.

User will be prompted to validate afresh again with their credentials and app will retrieve / verify this data from the concerned API.
